Description:
In a series of highly worked paintings on panel that began in the late 1990's, abstract painter Nancy Van Deren explored ovid forms--the shapes of nature in the landscape. More recently Van Deren has employed some of those same forms much more loosely in her work with unique prints. In this monotype entitled "Algiers", the shapes and colors bring to mind Matisse's north African images. This artwork is presented matted and framed. View as framed.
