Description: Contemporary figurative sculptor Edward Walsh focuses on the essence of the recognizable image and realizes his work in rich, timeless materials. This head of a woman entitled "Sonia" is made from aluminum, laboriously brushed to what Walsh terms a Florentine satined finish. The torsion of the head makes this sculpture an ever-surprising piece from different angles and in different lights. This sculpture, mounted on a handsome white carrera marble base, is #6 from an edition of 6. Measuring 15 inches high plus base, this bust is a medium scale suitable for a tabletop or pedestal.
