This photograph entitled Comal by Mary Teresa Giancoli is part of a series recording daily life in contemporary Mexico. Beginning in the late 1990's, Mary Teresa Giancoli focused her lens on documenting the culture of the Mexican community in New York City; more recently Giancoli expanded her work to include many images festivals, rituals and daily life from Mexico as well. Giancoli shoots in natural light with a twin lens box camera. Giancoli prints her photographs in limited editions of 20 or fewer.
