Description:
In his 2004-2005 series of paintings, painter and film director Todd Bellanca uses more gestural strokes than in his prior works where a geometric crispness prevailed. In "Relentless", a touch of Franz Kline seems to be entering Bellanca's poetic and cinematic vision. The surface of this painting has a seductive quality; it possesses a tactile as well as visual allure: We want to see into it and reach into it at the same time.
