Description: In artworks that mix printingmaking and painting, Eduardo Fausti explores themes from the natural world. Fausti is as interested in natural history as in cultural history. And, in visual terms, he muses about what happens when the two collide.
The words of "Vanishing Landscape" are Latin names of plants extinct in the last 40-50 years. View word detail. To quote the artist: " It is as if I were looking at a landscape or a section of a rainforest in the process of degradation, or even yet, as a memory of what those plants were before extinction. I start from a basic standpoint of making a mark, which I transfer onto metal. Later, prints are made and mounted onto a canvas. In this way, letters and words are charged with a personal feeling."
