Description: This painting entitled "Grain of Rice" shows New York abstract painter Lynne Frehm's remarkable skill in maintaining balance in a dense gestural painting. Heavily painted and with a tight, rhythmic composition, this painting is a particularly important piece in Frehm's body of work. A description for Lynne Frehm's 1996 show reads: "Frehm's work carries one beyond color. Recognizable images emerge and reintegrate as if one were viewing a moving picture and tried to superimpose and juxtapose many of the frames".
