Description: Contemporary Argentine artist Catalina Chervin's primary work is making minutely detailed large-scale drawings. As a counterpoint to these meticulous artworks, Chervin makes relatively looser paintings using oilstick, and various other materials, on paper. Some of her paintings relate thematically to her drawings--others do not. This work, influenced by elements of Surrealism, relates to this artist's drawings of the very late 1990's.
