Description: "Losing My Marbles" is a large still life painting by illusionist painter Lisa Dinhofer. View detail. This painting on panel relates to Dinhofer's dynamic 90 foot glass mosaic mural in which marbles escape from a checkboard space. (This important mural was commissioned by the New York City MTA for the subway station at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue; it was unveiled in May 2003.) The specificity of the shadows and reflections are typical of Dinhofer's work. View reflection detail. In addition to the framed area, mixed-media marbles escape off the black and white grid of the panel. View as installed. View detail of escaped marbles. Lisa Dinhofer uses technical skills associated with realism to create her own vision of space. Lisa Dinhofer is represented in major public collections including: New York City MTA, New York Public Library, Brooklyn Museum, IBM and Pfizer.
