Description: "4th of July at Long Beach" shows New York abstract painter Lynne Frehm's remarkable skill in maintaining balance in a complex, gestural painting. This work was painted and reworked over a four year period, so it is especially dense with a very nice surface texture. Frehm's work is particularly fascinating when it reaches this degree of almost baroque abstraction. A description for Frehm's 1996 show reads: "Frehm's work carries one beyond color. Recognizable images emerge and reintegrate as if one were viewing a moving picture and tried to superimpose and juxtapose many of the frames".
For the past 25 years, Lynne Frehm has shown continually in major New York City galleries including: Ruth Siegel, Andre Zarre and Allan Stone.
