Description: As its name suggests, Argentinian artist Catalina Chervin's drawing series entitled "Pequeñas baladas (Little Ballads)" includes lyrical vignettes telling intimate stories. This Latin American artist's work is rooted in Surrealism as well as in a European heritage of precise ink drawing that continues in Argentina today. "Pequeña balada #54" is a gem of a drawing combining ink, pencil and sanguine. In 2005, Chervin received the Premio Trabucco, a prestigious Argentine prize, for her career achievement in drawing. Catalina Chervin is represented in museum collections in the USA, South America, and Europe including: Brooklyn Museum (New York), Princeton University Museum (New Jersey), British Museum (London) Albertina (Vienna), Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (Buenos Aires) and Bochum Museum (Germany).
