Description: This gouache by contemporary artist Evelyn Twitchell is a loose, nearly abstract rendering of landcape and light across a pond. Writing for The New Republic, art critique Jed Perl notes: "Twitchell has a feeling for silvery tonalities; in her best work, which almost invariably involves growing things, there is a gently twinkling quality reminiscent of Jacques Villon's paintings."
