Nancy Azara oilstick rubbing collage Doorway

Description: This artwork entitled "Doorway" is a mixed-media rubbing/drawing/collage by noted sculptor and founding member of the feminist art movement Nancy Azara. The source of the rubbing is one of Azara's wooden sculpture panels. The rubbing is produced before the panel is painted or gilded and shows Azara's dynamic carving style. Then it takes on a life of its own with the addition of drawing and collage. This work is presented unframed with a mat.
