Description:
In the late 1990's, Mary Teresa Giancoli focused her lens on documenting the life of the Mexican community in New York City. Rituals, festivals and food--the elements of culture--are her subject matter. These dancers in regional costume were captured as they performed in the Mexican Independence Day parade in Jackson Heights (Queens). Giancoli shoots in natural light with a twin lens box camera. Giancoli prints her photographs in limited editions of 20 or fewer. View all available works by Giancoli. Visit Mary Teresa GIANCOLI's studio. |
