Description: In her illusively beautiful painterly interiors, Vivian Tsao constructs space out of light. While Tsao's work might feel Impressionist, it is really more about subtle nuances of tone. In "Palm and Windchime with Red Bow" the artist creates a complex and interesting painting using only a sparse interior as her point of departure. Born in Taiwan, Vivian Tsao is represented in major collections including the Sun Ten Museum in Taiwan. Her work has been exhibited in such important venues as: Brooklyn Museum, Butler Instutute of American Art, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taiwan Province Museum and Hewlett Gallery at Carnegie-Mellon. Tsao's writings on art have been published in China Times and Hsiung Shih Art Monthly.
