Garbell painting Foule au Quai

Description: Russian-born School of Paris painter Alexandre Garbell (1903-1970), painted this picture of a French dockside crowd in oil on paper. After WWII, the artist exhibited at Galerie du Siecle, Galerie Delpierre, Galerie Art Vivant (Paris), David Findlay(New York) and Galerie Bettie Thommen (Basel). This work's provenance is Galerie Framond (Paris). Both Galerie Framond and Galerie Charpentier mounted retrospectives honoring the artist in 1970. View the painting as framed.
