Description: "Masquerade" shows New York abstract painter Lynne Frehm's remarkable skill in maintaining balance in a dense, gestural painting; she is a master of structure. An essay for Lynne Frehm's 1996 show catalogue reads: "Frehm's work carries one beyond color. Recognizable images emerge and reintegrate as if one were viewing a moving picture and tried to superimpose and juxtapose many of the frames". At four feet square, this painting is a fairly modest scale for this artist who has generally preferred to make very large works. For the past 25 years, Lynne Frehm has shown continually in major New York City galleries including: Ruth Siegel, Andre Zarre and Allan Stone.
