Description:
In a series of highly worked paintings on panel that began in the late 1990's, abstract painter Nancy Van Deren explored ovid forms--the lively shapes of nature in the landscape. "Perched Ovals" is from that series of gouaches on panel; it was exhibited in the "Fanelli's Show" at OK Harris Gallery (NYC). Van Deren's exhibition history includes: Whitney Museum Annuals (NYC), Parrish Art Museum (Southhampton, NY), Jo Rain Gallery (Dublin, Ireland) and Sarah Rentschler Gallery and Ace Gallery (NYC).
