Description:
Richard Mock is most familiar to the public through his marvelous linocuts whose topical sting enlivened the op-ed pages of the New York Times during the 1980's. Mock's major focus is as an abstract painter and art printmaker. This hand-colored aquatint with applied collage of metal caps, glitter and road paint combines wry commentary with beautiful surface treatment. This work is from an edition of 30. Richard Mock is represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), Chase Manhattan Bank, Bank of America and many more public and private collections. See Biddington's Auction Galleries to view more of Mock's prints. Please email for a close-up of the lizard. Buyer pays shipping and insurance costs. Visit Richard Mock's Red Hook (Brooklyn) studio.
