Reflecting an abiding interest in ancient myth, signs and language, Expressionist painter DIANE CHURCHILL's painting has evolved from figurative imagery to more abstract works. In her 2002-2006 "Shimmering World" paintings, Churchill explores the opulent textures and haunting symbols of the Silk Road. In the artist's 2007 "Tepoztlán" series, intense colors play within a loosely landscape structure.
