Description: In an impressive career as an artist and illustrator, Joan Berg Victor has made portraits of corporate CEO's and heads of state for leading business publications including: "Forbes", "Fortune", "The Wall Street Journal" as well as "The New York Times". "People always remark that I'm a very kind portraitist," says the artist. Joan Berg Victor has a talent for infusing her portraits with vitality, so that the portrait shows not only a realistic depiction of a face but also the personality and energy of her subject.
Typically a portrait commission is a life-size pencil and watercolor artwork on paper. Joan Berg Victor draws from photos but, when possible, the artist also likes to meet her subject. Portraits may be traditional and dignified--as might be suitable for an executive's portrait--or rather informal such as the casual poses of these twin teenage girls.
Estimated pricing guidelines: Single head drawings (about 20" x 16"): $5000-$6000
Double portraits or larger works, such as the twins or the full length portrait of the child shown at right, are higher. Specific prices are quoted on request for each commission based on its individual requirements.
Framing and shipping charges are additional.
